In early 2015, seven South African’s who enjoy riding DH decided to head to Andorra to take part in the Masters World Championships. Masters doesn’t mean you’re good…it just means you’re old. Let’s make that very clear, you don’t have to do diddly-squat to enter Masters (aside from melt your credit card with a 130 Euro purchase); but you should be able to stay on your bike.

That said, some of the people on this trip are actually pretty decent at riding bikes, and we’re super stoked to have Rika Olivier from the Western Cape navigating us from Barcelona to La Massana in Andorra where we’ll be staying. Rika has even Google mapped our options out of Barcelona, although when they started talking about the Spanish traffic circles and “entering with force in order to exit safely – maybe closing eyes will help” I began to wonder about asking Mark to be the registered driver for the hire van. Rika, Mark Millar and I will be travelling together, and Nigel Hicks (30 – 34 Masters World Champ in 2013), Jo Hicks and Peter Hoyer will be travelling together. Cobus Truter (aka Canonball Koos)from Gauteng is joining us in La Massana.

Anyways, we’ll update this blog that no-one will probably read as we go along, and we’ll update it every day from Andorra. If my fingers are functional and not in a cast. Ha ha.
