Peter Hoyer is one super cool guy, and is father to Jo Hicks. Not many people get to ride with their Dad’s, let alone do DH with them and it’s always great to see Jo and Pete (as well as Lauren, one of Pete’s other daughters) on the hill, working technical sections together, whooping and high fiving the day away. And sometimes lying in the dirt feeling very sore after crashing, but they don’t complain very much, they breed them Hoyer’s tough.
Pete has been riding bikes for 12 years, and has been riding DH for 6 of those. He works in beverage distribution, travels a fair amount and is always one of the friendly faces on the hill that everyone is happy to see. He is also always impeccably colour co-ordinated with his kit, and has upped the game of all the girls who seem to be taking a lot more care after seeing how Peter always looks good in photos. Hmm.
Pete will be riding in the 55 – 59 age category, and reckons his Top 3 Riding Achievements are:
1. KZN Provincial Champs Winner (Masters)
2. Participated in the Masters World Champs in 2013
3. Perfecting the tuck and roll!
