Cobus Truter is representing the GP number plates on the South African crew and hails from Johannesburg. Cannonball Koos got his nickname for a reason, as he is known for being a risk taker. Some may say that’s putting it mildly. Cannonball is a property developer, and has perhaps gained some of his riding inspiration from wrecking balls on site. But he puts his inspiration to better use than Miley Cyrus, and is a serious jumper and contender in the Sub-Vets category. He’s been riding bikes for 15 years, and doing DH for that entire time too so he is rather experienced at rolling down hills fast. Cobus wants to give a big shout out to the entire SA DH Community who have supported him to get to Andorra: “You are all Rock Stars – High Fives All Round!”

Cobus will be competing in the 30 – 34 age category and his Top 3 Riding Achievements are:

  1. 2015 SA Cup Series Sub Vet Winner
  2. “I have once defeated the famous Nigel Hicks by 0.0000000000000000000001 sec – The Bards will sing about it long after I’m gone”
  3. *Derp

Cannonball’s current DH rig is a Giant Glory (date TBC)

* For those who don’t know what Derp means, I Googled it and this is what Wiktionary had to say (I particularly like option 3):

Verb

derp ‎(third-person singular simple present derps, present participle derping, simple past and past participle derped)

  1. To act stupidly or foolishly
  2. To make a stupid mistake  [quotations ▼]
  3. (slang, of eyes) To point in different directions; (of a person) To have a facial expression with one’s eyes pointing in different directions.  [quotations ▼]
