By Jo Hicks

In life, we all have priorities…his priorities, and her priorities 😉

Everyone is well prepared for anything…be it mud, flat tyres, hydration or…impromptu fancy dinners and flip-flop wearing on sunny days.

Hicksonians getting their packing on

By Kath

Nigel and Jo Hicks are leaving on Friday for Spain, as they’re going to spend a few days roaming the streets of Barcelona before heading on over to Andorra. Nigel phoned us in what one could describe as a “humorously bewildered” state, trying to figure out how to drop some poundage off their packing. Boxxer Drama – The End of the Saga

By Kath

For those of you keen on understanding why my Boxxer was spewing out oil, my very clever manfriend discovered the root cause and managed to fix the issue with an o-ring and plumbers tape, all before dinner. Continue reading “Boxxer Drama – The End of the Saga”

Race Face, um, Race Hair?

By Kath

They say a change is as good as a holiday. I tend to get bored of my hair, and I visit Kelvin Purchase’s wife Macheila Purchase at her hair cutting magic shop in Howick, Hairitage, to sort out such issues. I suppose it was probably the looming hills of the Pyrenees that made me panic and think that core strength training three weeks before leaving for the World Champs would be a good idea, but I’m really glad I went.  Continue reading “Warrior Fit”

Boxxer Drama

By Kath

So like my flippin’ Boxxer has been a bit leaky of late, and Mark has been trying to fix it…which is not the easiest job in the world. There are so many variables when you open up a fork, especially the Kath variable which basically entails a deer-in-the-headlights look and frozen in fear stance. It’s like the fight or flight syndrome basically. Continue reading “Boxxer Drama”

#YOLO – or at least that’s what we think young people say

By Kath Fourie

In early 2015, seven South African’s who enjoy riding DH decided to head to Andorra to take part in the Masters World Championships. Masters doesn’t mean you’re good…it just means you’re old. Let’s make that very clear, you don’t have to do diddly-squat to enter Masters (aside from melt your credit card with a 130 Euro purchase); but you should be able to stay on your bike.
